Refuge In Our Heart
But more than any place, I’ve been learning that I have to be a safe place — for myself, and for others. My mind, left unchecked, can be a pretty scary neighborhood. The thoughts spiral. The self-criticism gets loud and harsh. So I’ve been practicing mindful self-compassion, quietly and consistently. Building a refuge not just outside, but inside — in my own heart. Learning to be kind to myself. Gentle. Forgiving.
The world may feel upside down. But I can still be a steady place within it.
