Surrendering to the Pause

Those who know me well know I tend to be on the move. In Internal Family Systems (IFS) — a framework from modern psychology I find myself returning to — there’s a part of me that is very dominant: the one that keeps me busy, productive, and always moving forward. It’s how I’ve learned to navigate life, to feel like I belong, to feel safe. So whenever I’m forced to slow down, it’s usually a good thing, even if I resist it at first. These enforced pauses are, in their own way, an invitation to release my grip — on my to-do list, on my sense of control, on the illusion that everything depends on me keeping it all in motion.
